Caring for you

Our Team

Louise Bruce has owned Melrose since 2005, and has enjoyed developing the home to the high standard it is today.

Louise has a long career in the Health Services, having been a lecturer and nurse specialist at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, Since then, she has held senior posts in management in the NHS and more recently was General Manager of a BUPA hospital in Surrey.

‘I’ve always worked in centres of clinical excellence – and Melrose is no exception; we are totally focussed on delivering the best in care practice for our residents, as well as helping them to live full and meaningful lives while they are here.’

We have a dedicated team of over 50 members of staff including nurses, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff, and a maintenance man.  This ensures that residents’ requirements are met day and night, throughout the year.  An on-going training programme keeps members of staff up to date, and we encourage and support all staff to take NVQ training in addition to their usual professional development.

Liz Seymour is the Care Manager; she is responsible for the medical welfare of all the residents and the management of the Home’s staff.  She has been at Melrose since 1998.  She and Louiseul share their philosophy of leading the staff to care for the residents with the utmost respect and dignity.
